fordfreak you engine bay looks bloody awesome. Are thos gates hoses ? or are they just covers ? and the red things on the brake lines where did you get those from ?

There's a big difference in time taken when you have the proper tools.
A polishing place could probably do a rocker cover in a few minutes lol. |

bet for $50 it won't be good If I paid for mine he reckoned he would have to charge about $300 and it took 2 hours
1 block of wax and 2 wheels the quality of any polishing will cost and Bill has been doing it for 30 years if its metal he can polish it alloy brass stainless he can take out welds on pipes so they are blended and look as if it is one peice and sharpen knives or axes so you can shave with them. In Extream magazine issue 25 there is a car built in Windsor I think it is a Rambler he did the polishing. To get that kind of finish in alloy you need to heat it (through friction)and this causes the surface to melt then not to get it to hot as beleive it or not you can burn it.

and also how good the cast is
with a die grinder i can take off the casting marks thats a 10min job but a lil tricky <<< i used to grind up aisle lights and send them to be polished to see what they looked like before the polish and after is huge fords inlet manifold cast is already pretty good so for the right polisher it is an easy job ...you may find people charge big dollors coz they have a good rep the company i know that polishes make trailers no one really knows they polish i guess a picture tells 1000 words so will have to wait and see |

Wouldnt a die grinder gouge out uneven amounts all over the place?
I tried that and stuck to sanding by hand.....

I tried that and stuck to sanding by hand..... yea its pretty tricky i guess the right tool for the right job die grinder i would only use for BIG casting marks ... what about sand blasting chould that help i mean instead of just polishing what about sand blasting then a nice polish i guess anything for a good result and time n effort factor |

That is 2hrs and I only had to clean up with a rag and polish if you use a die griner you will remove to much as it spins to fast I tried on the manifold that was on my motor that is in my gallery for 2hrs to get it to a base that was workable but I got sickof it and painted it. I then bought a whole XR^ motor to rebuild for my daughter and took it to Bill to polish.
End result as most poeple who saw it as fantastic.
