Greetings people.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal? If not normal, how do I correct it. Purchased Falcon AU Series II from private seller. Been raining of late, The boot has no liner but each time I pop open the boot up high, I get a lot of water running out of the bootlid and straight into the boot. Water seems to run down on the inside. Is the lid faulty or is this normal? Any advice or remedy on this would be welcome. Cheers, Peter |

dont think that was ford factory option... for water saving??
Has it got a spoiler? I removed mine then replaced it and had the same problem, removed spoiler and put a SMALL bead of silicon round the bolt holes ( If too much the silicon will squeeze out from nderneath all over boot), then replace.. Hope this helps |

ah f**k same here
ive always thought it was because of the boot liner in my AU Mont. Bit of rain, and when you lift the boot lid it pours out of the base ive siliconed inside the boot lid where the holes are for the chrome garnish, and number plate holes, but it still leaks !! also my EF mont did it too, and also had boot liner |

I had same issue, just take the rubber bungs out of the bottom of the boot. That'll let the water drain out, not really sure how it gets in but alot of AU's start rusting out around those holes/bungs.

Thanks people.
Hmmm, looks like I'm not the only one that suffers or suffered this problem. No spoiler on my boot lid. I picked up anothet boot lid from the wreckers, looked alright for the outside, no dents or bings, should have double checked the inside. yep near the sill, bit of rust, a whole big bubble...oops I'll have to repair that one now. Is it best to mig weld it with metal (zinc anneal) or just use bog? I want the bugger to last at least 10 years. Cheers |

I had the same trouble on my s3 so even the last ones did it, anyway it was the holes for the number plate, I used the rubber washers you get on tex screws and put them on the bolts between the plate and the boot.
All fixed now.

i guess just crawl inside the boot, and get someone to hose water around it and see where the water is getting in

Also look inside the boot, I could see clearly where the water was running due to dust sticking to where it was wet.

no dust on mine, I cleaned it up when I first got it
