G'day Guys,
I have a ford falcon remote mirror that I was hoping you could help me out with identifying. They are photos IMG_7893 to IMG_7900. I am wanting to know what model of falcon it suits (eg XY, XA, GT etc). I am sure that the guys in the know(you guys) will be able to identify it pretty easily. Im pretty sure that its an XY / XA / XB / XC Mirror...
Here is a picture of an XA Coupe, which will give you a fair idea of what the Mirror looks like on these cars 
And here is a picture of an XY 
Im no expert on these cars though, and I dunno if the mirror is interchangable with the XY / XA, or if the mirror you have is meant for an XY or an XA Hope this helps

Thanks for the info Xyphoid. I knew that it at least looked similar to the mirrors on those vehicles but is there any way to know definitely what models it suits?
As an example it also looks the same as my old MkI Escort mirrors but I would assume they are different. Is there maybe some marking on it that would definitively tell me??? Anybody else able to tell for sure from the photos? |

the same basic mirror suits XY-XC falcons, and i believe they were fitted to other ford vehicles, such as cortina's, capri's, escorts, etc
i know that when you bought them from ford in the 80's, they came with a couple of different mount pads depending on which car they were to be fitted to

Incidently I have it up for Auction on eBay Australia at the moment (only up to $7.50 but have seen one sell for $233 last week). Item number is 4505944828 and auction ends approx 9AM Perth time Saturday 27th. Feel free to ask any questions about condition etc.

I'm pretty sure you will find that those type of mirrors (XY-XC) were fitted to the top of the range cars, Fairlane/LTD.

Thanks heaps for your help guys, yes, it does include the GT TS50EB, fairlanes yes, but i'm 99% sure you'll find that the LTD's used a different design..... $233 for the mirror? sheesh......... i know where there's a dozen or so!
