Fully sik uleh, you getting some neons, monster tacho with that, dont get them in chrome, look even worse, big probs there for you to sort out, if your not paying for it, but why would the company pay for something that is totally uneccesary?

If u do end up getting them you most likely will have to get your speedo re-calibrated, like fuzion said you would notice a drop in accelration, i wouldnt go that big wheels, but its your choice....

with 20's on it, unless you do like a custom bodykit its gonna look weird anyway... youd never be able to lower it enough to get the body anywhere near the ground without major... and i mean major... issues clearing not only the guards but suspension components..
look at your front suspension now and see how close the upper control arm (i think thats what it is :p ) is to your tyres already..
imagine trying to squeeze a 20" rim with rubber in there..

and even if you are willing to engineer the whole thing (which would take a fair bit of thought to get it anywhere near drvable) i question whether your company will be willing to write off a bill that i imagine would easily exceed 5g's, almost half the cars resale value...

and while im ranting, i'm not such a large fan of jetxr (please dont hang me), not because it ain't a nice LOOKING car, but because its SHOWcar.. and in my opinion cars are made to be driven, not showed off like a 34dd bimbo (although you can ride those).. that feels better now

yep 20's for sure, no such thing as to big as long as the cars drivable. mates got a vt on 20's looks bloody nice, and the looks ya get driving the car around, lol, well i allways love driving the car. he wants to go bigger next time. he has new shocks, rock hard ride and super lows allround, with s-pack kit. sits very low, just stay clear of the trouble spots and there's no issues from the piggies.
go the 20's for sure! i want to see.

Same rims im gettin on da same car... wish I had a kit like that tho :O
Shadow chrome with polished lip is much less showy tho, thats my option :)
Style minus the rice factor.

Just to double check, 18" rims are legal on an EL without needing to be engineered ??

jet xr's car isnt that great! dont know what people are on about.. weirdo kit with 'hp' design wheels.. it aint that good! plus the illegal mod of removal of the airbag for a s**t steering wheel!

Wow, hot topic the 20’s have become. Look, each to their own when it comes to wheel choice and size but having had (& mates the same) many types/sizes on various cars, this is what we have found. My mates blue ELXR8 – and I’d assume EF would be pretty similar underneath, he went from 18s (when they were the biggest thing available) to 19s (as seen on the cover of performance ford magazine, zoom, street machine magazine – known as YLOOOZ) to 20s. The wheels he put on were only available to suit AU offsets so he had to run spacers all round, he had to remove the plastic inner guard linings to the front, the guards were rolled/lipped all round and he had to pump the fronts slightly. A lot of work to fit big rims that from memory weren’t wider than 8s (perhaps 8.5s rear) – again a lot to do with offset.
In short the 20’s did fit – but keep in mind this thing sat bloody low (ryobi modified super low kings) but although they were tucked under the guard nicely, the ground clearance was way too high, looked kinda like a scared cat. Needless to say he’s gone back to 19s because the stance just looked wrong (ps. he does also have a full body kit on the car) Current rims are simmons FR19s (8 & 9.5s) – looks and drives much better even though its only a 1inch difference. For my money I reckon 19s front and 20s on the rear would be the max you’d wanna go. I personally stuck with FR19s – 8s / 9s on my EB (that also sits pretty low) but didn’t have to pull out half the crap that you get on EF/ELs. The front guards did need rolling though but I did pinch them with my old 16inch simmons albeit they had massive dished offsets.
Obviously ride and legality maybe compromised and standard brakes look smallish, but you’d have to check these things for yourself before buying.
He also knows the owner of the red EF XR6 Turbo from Victoria, that someone has already mentioned so could tell you what they are running.
You could give him a call for advice/availability as he has set up his own shop (in Canberra) selling wheels Australia wide: INJEKT’D : 02 6162 1904 (website’s not running yet) ask for Vince.

He definately has a big wheel complex.

and you must be feeling the need to compensate for something......
more inces in your wheels to compensate for a lack of inches elsewhere perhaps?

I dont get it, are you talking about cubic inches ? I've got over 330 c.i. :?

As if I was'nt already inspired enough.
But yet another valued piece of advice from the interceptor
Thanks mate, your a legend.

AXR88U in the article is says in order to get the 20's to fit (quote from street machine)
"we had to modify the front stub axles and use narrow 225/35 tyres to make them fit but i'm just about to put wider 245 rubber on the back"
:D

Do you think they were just talking about hub adaptors when they talk about modifying the stub axles because the rims have the wrong offset, or something different ?
