i had a pop up one in my XC ute (was dual cab but), and I was more than happy with it. Electric ones are too expensive and just another thing to break.

I got one put in my xh ute a year ago.. its an inalfa electric, pop up slide back same as that blue ute in the pic above. cost $1100 fitted, from mr windscreens.

Its good to have, the only thing it rattles a little bit on corrugations every now and then, but i think that is more to do with the roof not being made to support one.

The main 2 brands are webasto hollandia, and inalfa.

just look in the yellow pages, and ring around you will find a cheaper price than 2.5k.

This is my first posting and thought i would through my hat in. My BA XR6 Ute has a sliding sunroof. I love it. Would now always have one, just adds a little bit more too the look and feel of the car on the exterior and interior.

Here is a pic:

on mine, air only comes in when its fully open, not just on vent. even then its not heaps of air.

it only gets a bit annoying at freeway speeds when its fully open and theres a bit of wind noise about it. but its not really that bad, nothing that cant be fixed by turning the stereo up a bit.

mines a sedan though, and it slides into the roof, rather than over it like on the utes, so, could be completely different for them

well in my car it if u open the front windows slightly and just pop the sunroof up you get some air in...good enough to keep the air flow going and keep the car a bit cooler.....

if i leave it fully open you get a lot more air but not as much as you would when you open the front window though it makes less noise then the front windows but good ventilation....freeway speeds i haven't really noticed much wind noise as my front window down.

if u want ill take you for a drive mark.
