Can someone give me some ideas on maintaining the tonneau cover on my ute. I have always used Armourall on it but a panel beater acquaintance reckons that this dries it out and causes it to crack
 hasn't happened yet. He recommended using something like baby oil. Tried this and all it did was make the cover greasy....yuk! 
Has anyone got any other ideas?

use a vinyl/rubber reviver on it ... have also seen a wax-based paste (rubs in like waxon paintwork).
Had a car wash place use this wax-based stuff on mine ... bloody hell ... it looked like new ... and stayed black for ages. Normally mine is light grey/brown though.

No probs ... I have a spray on vinyl reviver ... but the tonneau really needs to be as clean as possible before applying it ... takes a while to do it properly to get a good even coat.
But I'll try and find out what the wax type one is ... comes with a sponge applicator ... and really soaks into the tonneau as well.

I use Export Tyre shine (those blue spray cans) cheap and quick to do. Spray on and wipe in - should only take you 10 - 15 mins. It's not as permanent as some of the wax appliers (not totally rain resistant), but it does bring the tonneau up quite good - without too much of those 'swirl circles'. Lasts for ages in dry weather.
