Hey,
I am looking at getting some wheel spacers in order to have more variety in my rim choice. A few questions... What are they worth? Best place to get them from? Which states are they legal in? Tim

i find it amusing that legalities are always asked about but i bet you wouldnt even question the safety of your vehicle? hub adaptors are legal here i think (different to spacers but do the same job) i dunno about other states

I dont know if any state allows u to use a 5mm spacer I know they dont here in ACT.
Ive got the bolt on hub adapter which im told by like 3 out of 5 places is legal here they range from $250-350 depending on who u know etc etc

dont want to hi-jack the thread but what exactly are the diffences between spacers and adaptors in the end dont they do the same thing

Spacers just push the rim further out, causing less stud to be poking out and making the rim sit on the studs instead of the hub. Adaptors sit on the hub and bolt onto the existing studs. They also provide another hub and longer studs off the adaptor.
Wish I could find some pics, itd be way easier to explain. |

Any wheel/tyre shop should be able to get them

Bingo. Do the job properly, espeacially when it comes to safety parts like wheels, brakes, and suspension. (see that 'I cut my springs' thread <meshakeshead>)

i would have thought that anything that altered the wheel track from factory is illegal in all states? may be wrong

It isn't altering the wheel track, if it is just correcting the offset.
