Has anyone fitted an AU XR6 falcon dash and centre console into an ea falcon? All wiring is there and sorted.

Any ideas on what parts need to be modified? Have pulled the crash bar from behind it to make manouvering easier.

Also what about the seats? Will they all fit easily and what modifications will be needed?

Trying to make the car look better to sell easier.

The dash will be like mounting the BA dash because the cabin body didn't much between them if at all... The AU dash will be harder to fit trying to make the AU air con ducts line up with the EA heaterbox... With the BA fitment they use the BA heaterbox so that it all works in together... The winscreen vents vary between the two as well... On EA it goes up through the metal seem join and the duct sits in the top from the windcreen and the cowling covers the top... With the AU the duct and vents are all in the top of the dash and it is one piece... You may have to cut that reinforcing metal seem out to get the AU dash to sit in there and cutting structural part out will make the car unroadworthy...

I think people doing the BA conversion leave the crash bar in and add the bolts in the AU pillars to mount it to...

You should be able to search for the seats... I know I have seen someone on here with the rear seats in their E series... Not sure on the fronts but I think they were done...

Search for B series dash installs as well... Because the cabin shape didn't change, what you see for a BA dash install is going to be near the same for an AU dash install, just heaterbox stuff will be different...

You will have trouble fitting the EA cluster into the AU dash... Not enough room... And the EA wont drive the AU cluster... That will require the AU BEM and computer... You will have add the bracket work onto the floor for the floor handbrake... This will mean fitting an EF/EL diff to get the handbrake system to work... Fitting the diff for the handbrake will require the brake lines to be set up as per EF/EL or if not modifying done to get them to mount up similar to the EA-ED arrangement... Fuse and relays blocks in the dash may be painful to get to mount up as well...

It's an EA... Nothing is going to make it sell better...

Cheers,
Tim

Thanks mate.

We arent actually fitting air con vents or anything.
Also, the AU wiring is all there in the cabin as there has been an au tickford vct motor put in the car prior to us buying it. Cluster is also there aswell as ECU obviously. Sorry should have mentioned that

With the crash bar still mounted on the dash it didnt fit inside the cabin hence why we unbolted it.
Looking at making a customised crash bar to keep it strong.

And yes I know its only an EA and nothing will make it sell better. Just need to get rid of it easier to buy new car.
