Hi, Can anyone tell me the code for an AU radio cass player. I replaced the globes in the radio and after refitting it to the dash I now need a code to make it work. I rang Ford, they say I have to come in in person to get code,(not convenient for me)maybe something to do with $10 code retrieval fee I rekon.

hmm, ive never heard of any dealerships charging you for the code. i think its more of a security measure. probably dont want to give you the code over the phone incase you just nicked it out of somebodies car!

i think leroy on here works at ford and might be able to get them for you?
pm him and ask

Wignals in Frankston charge $20 for a radio code. The reason they want you there in person, is they want to see the VIN number on the car and your ownership (rego) papers.

Without these measures the radio code would have no security benefit at all.

Troublesome unit, I would put a cd player in but I like the controls on the steering wheel.

i think you just have to leave it for a while now?

its another security feature, if you punch in the wrong code so many times, it eventually shuts itself off for a while.
