Got the EMS installed at last and finally tuned(my fault not Joes) but am having trouble with the ACC. This is for an EFII V8 Ghia. When the car is first started the ACC flashes five times. Can anyone tell me what this is. Also, i have no heat, but everything else works perfectly. How do you access diagnostics for the climate control.
Cheers in advance
Brett

Do you still have the EEC-V installed? Is the EEC-V still obtaining Engine Coolant Temp feed from the stock sensor? This information is required for CC to work.

Yes EEC-v is still in place, EMS is used as a piggy back, cause the damn EEC-V controls just about everything. Got a custom coolant temp so there are 2 sensors, one for the EMS and one for the EEC. Looks pretty funky when you see it

I have heat and no air conditioning - I got E2 in my window, dashboard is being removed later this week - $600 job for the heater blower motor. A new part being fitted from Ford.

How do you bring up diagnostics, i want to know how to get an E2 in the window. Also it only flashes 3 times, not five

NP. If I'm standing next to your car next dyno day like last month's one, and you're still having hassles, I'll have a look at it for you :P .

Well, i have just run a diagnostic, and got no faults. It seems to have cleared whatever was wrong with it(i mucked it up initially and cleared the codes). The heater tap is working, i checked, but it appears that there is no water getting to the heaterbox(hoses are cool and have no pressure). Will investigate more in the morning. The hoses were replaced recently, do you thing i put them on the wrong way, as i took both off form the heater tap to do the swap. Could this affect things.

I wouldn't think the heater valve is directional, but if you don't get a definite answer here you might PM madmax and ask him. The valve does need vacuum to close it, so you can pull the line off the valve or set CC to 32 degrees, and with the car reasonably warmed up, just check the valve again and see if the actuating link needs manual assistance to fully open the valve. If that's the case you may need to adjust it by bending the link.

Be worth checking the heater hose connections/routing just in case you've ended up with a closed loop for the heater. If the heater was working fine before the hose change, you wouldn't think a heater blockage is likely, but I guess don't rule it out, but of course check the easier things first.

Could also be an air lock, if you take the car for a short run on max CC heat it should clear it.
Anyways, hope this helps . . . . .

Gave the cooling system a flush today, and wonder of all wonders, the heater works again. All is back to normal. Has been playing some weird games with my head today.
