bit late maybe, this drain is located above the gearbox on the drivers side

prick of a place to get at, need ramps or a hoist, why they chose this location is beyond me

Is it normal for it to leak? In the last week or so mine leaks right about there (in front of the gearbox) whenever the air con is on.

yes, it drains off the condensation formed in the evaporator inside the car

if it doesn't come out the hole eventually you get water dripping on the passengers feet cause it fills up the lower areas and starts to stink

Its not actually leaking. Its a drain and yes it is normal for it to drain water out when the AC has been running.

Think of a building AC system they also have drains to remove excessive condensation.

Ok then that's good to know. It just seemed to be dumping excessive amounts of water and got me a bit worried, that's all.
