I have a few questions. Currently I just bought this VGA Converter Box from ASLAutomedia for my BF Fairmont ICC Screen. However i have this black border around the screen. i was wondering is there any way of fixing this.

The board that is used is the WEIYA CV-02 VGA to CGA board.
http://www.weiya.com.tw/products_detail.asp?le=english&fid=127&pid=200&top_fid=

However they have put this attachment on the board and it does something else which im not sure about. I have a feeling that this board is causing the black border.

However i dont really wanna take the board off atm.

any help removing the black border would be great.

Thanks.

CGA res is 640x400, I am running something higher than that without problem. As the display is expecting interlaced scanning it may have some bearing on the boarder. Do you have the option of changing the resolution?

Yeah i can change the res from 640x480 to 800x600 to 1024x768. however when its on any of these res settings there is a black border around the video output its about 2 or 3 millimetre thick. where i have seen other peoples ones on the internet which are basically right to the edge.

So im not sure what is the difference.

And mine is slightly blurry. maybe cause the pixels aren't fine enough on the screen.

Im not sure what yours is like.

I am ruinning 720x480 60hz Interlaced. Not sure if you can run 800x600 (at least mine can't) or above.

If anyone is interested, the FG video-in uses an inverted C-Sync. You would run your H/V lines through a NOR gate IC to get the desired result.

Use this link as a guide.

http://www.aussiearcade.com.au/showthread.php/22791-Dual-Sync-to-Comp-Sync-Circuit

ASL sell the FG vid-in plug, but ask nicely.

You can achieve a RGB output through your HDMI port (by selecting a 480i resolution) but you'll also need an HDMI to VGA converter (basically a DAC). This will effectively create a 15khz output. They're pretty cheap and available on ebay and amazon but make sure it specifies 480i. Some are just offering 480p - be specific with your enquiry.

If any of you chaps know Lukeyson or have been flicked a copy of his 15khz driver for the 945, why not be a good fellow and attach a copy to this thread? I'm sure there are chaps out there who would be grateful.
