Is there any kind of trick in taking the front door trims in a BA xr8. I have tried and failed. I get all the clips and screws off and the power window console and the door handle but something seems stuck. I have searched this forum and i guess im a bit retarded as i couldn't find anything. I just wanna put some front speakers in. Also wanna put some rear ones too.

OK - Remove the electric window switches first.
Two screws under the door handle cover - 1 screw on back edge of trim (towards the hinges) - 1 screw on front edge of trim (towards the lock) - two screws at the bottom of the trim with two caps covering them - 1 screw behind the door handle which is covered with a cap.
Remove the door handle by sliding it towards the door hinges and let it hang.
Once removed there are 6-8 white clips holding the bottom half of the trim to the door. Give it a decent pull from the bottom and they will unclip. Once all unclipped lift the trim upwards. If you are working on the drivers door unclip the wires going to the remote mirror switch.
Make sure you feed the door handle through the trim as well.

Hope this helps.

On the drivers side, be very careful of the Mirror Controller knob and it's connections. They are easily damaged.

Upgraded my futura to XR leather trims, as you say, something seems stuck. For me, it was just a tight fit, and after 3 years of being in the bush, you can just imagine the heat making it stick like a b**ch!

like what jlgw70 said... but you might find that they get caught on the top of the door lip... to which a gentle love tap upwards might set it free
