Just out of interest, how have you guys hooked up the neons in your footwells? Are teh connected so they dim with the rest of the courtesy lights? I've been wanting to do this mod properly for a while, but haven't known how to go about it.

Cheers,
Julza

yeh just joined the wires up with the existing globes, cut them off and bam.. easy as looks great and dims with the lights!

Great, thanks for the replies guys! I take it you just cut off the ciggie plug connectors and wire them up then yeah? Are there any particular neons recommended? I remember reading a while back that someone cut the cig plugs off a neon and they didn't work :?

Regards,
Julza

you can only cut the plugs off if there is nothing inside them. some neons i have seen have the little circuit board inside the plug, in which case you need to retain this circuitry. if the circuit board is in the actual neon istelf, cut the plug off no worries.

to work out if it is in the plug, you chould be able to tell by looking at it. if the plug is pretty small with no larger part on the end of it its probably empty, also if the neon has one end part larger than the other the plug is probably empty. or just take the plug apart carefully so you dont break it.

they are an automotives distributor, more of a wholesaler, i get my s**t from em coz my dad works the them, but their warehouses do have storefronts for the public to buy items
otherwise try repco, supercheap, or any other narva distributor
maybe try the narva website for who sells em??

I had bulbs and put a blue sleeve over them and the colour of the light looked a bit green, which i didn't really like.

yep - get either coloured bulbs (narva or someone may have them) or get the condom covers to fit over them. i'm looking to get white ones for mine, as opposed to the yellowish glow - if thats at all possible! :?

Ive got some white bulbs that im gonna be getting rid of soon maybe...
Im thinking about replacing the front bulbs with blue 6" CCFL's and using a LED bulb in the back one (narva led bulb) ...

You can have a look at them at the dyno day anyways! ;)

Yes you can get LED wedge globes go straight in, pretty expensive though, well for a globe around like $2-$3 I think, I got mine from Repco, they last longer supposedly. They are more directional though! I use them in the front not in the back.
