im interested in this too... if anyone out there has got a custom ute tray with additions post up some pics...
i was thinking of a slightly modified version of low_ryda's tray,http://www.fordmods.com/the-garage-f53/auii-vct-xr6-ute-t100088.html?hilit=auii%20xr6%20vct&start=30 (page 3 has good pictures). modifications - slightly raised parts to the side edges to hold items in the back better, possibly second battery under tray, tool boxes under tray, some way to make a removable insert setup (eg, storage, camping stuff, etc)... but yeah definately want to see what else people have out there...

as much as you get attached to the things, i've learnt if you're made a good offer... get rid of it lol. I'll pretty much sell anything for the right price these days.

You mentioned my tray ? want to buy it ? make me an offer lol minus the toolboxes I need them for my lux. Best thing is it's steel, anyone who can swing a stick welder can mod it.

I actually want a service body but starting to think it's cheaper to sell/swap the whole ute for another.

auII xr6 ute fairly custom will trade for bog stock one tonne falcon with service body. Sounds alot easier than it is hehe

there is a reason theres not alot of custom tray work out there. it's because it's expensive work for little gain.

i would definately make an offer, but making a custom tray would be half the reason of having one. i know it will most likely turn into a giant pain in my a**, but its the journey not the destination in this case...

but yeah to those other people that may be watching this, we are still waiting for all you custom ute tray people to show us a pic :p

Making a custom tray is all about getting to the end of it, getting paint on it, then seeing how you wouldv'e done it differently if you did it again lol.

As with most of these projects, I'm not sure you're offer would match the materials input even! lol (still open to offers though  )
