one main thing is you will need to move the hand break from under the dash to the floor beside the console or use a foot pedal park break like they had in the ex taxis that had front bench seat.
That’s going to be the only main hurdle you will need to get around

I'm about 99% done now on my ED. Easy job, but not for the faint hearted.

i have the full xr6 donor car so i think the best way to go would be to just switch everything wiring wise and then just bolt and plug it together and hope it works at the moment i have both cars stripped down except for wiring. before i go any further i want to find out about switching the subframe and suspension for the el stuff this would making bolting the engine in a breeze aswell rather than changing engine mounts etc. thanks for the post on the other links very helpful

EF EL use the same shell as the EB ED other than some changes to it like ras support panel front floor around the console and seats and from the rear of the back door frame to boot.

The front end should be almost the same.

I used a 6cyl EF Fairmont dash and engine bay loom and a DL V8 ECU and engine harness that I adapted to the EF 6cyl wiring and the existing ED Fairmont wagon wiring. So you could say that I changed nearly the whole lot and changed a few bits and pieces. An easy job but if you have electrical and mechanical retardation it may take a long long time to do.

with the dash swap..
are you going to change the cluster?

if so you'd need to get one with similar km's as its all digital.
