Heres a pic of my old au cluster with my white smds in it. To be honest i used a great camera but as you can see the white looks better then the factory yellow. the ef el are pretty much the same.

Well I've put all the white SMD LEDs in, now I just need to wait for it to get dark enough to see exactly how bright/good they look.
I also changed the odometer and trip computer read outs with the white SMD LED and a green filter (might go to white later).

Your idea of using the EF holders worked a treat, cheers for that one Futuraclassic.
I'll put some pictures up in a few hours time.

Cheers,
Russ.

I'm going to be getting some strip SMDLEDs for my boot light, rather than the festoon.
Do you stock them?

And I think later on I might for the Green LEDs in the Dash, or the Rainbow Cluster, as the white is a bit boring for me... being an immature P Plater that needs something to draw my attention every 3 seconds.
The white does look really nice, it's so much better than the stock globes.
This is how the white LEDs and the green filters turned out. (I need to reverse one of the top left globes evidently.):

As with any LED mod, the photo never does them justice.

Thanks for the help, Futuraclassic.

no wories mate, i dont stock the smd led strips yet but looking into it. green is a really bright colour out of them along with purple and orange. be aware though that u may need to clean the needles from orange if you wanna go a darker colour like green or blue. They will go a dark brown or black if you dont do it.

Yeah, Im going to swap my needles on the EL with the needles from the EF wagon, because they have the white backing, rather than the orange.
How much for the Green SMDLED pack?

so you can get smd's for the dash? i'd love some, is that with bulb holder or without, i've sanded and frosted mine and it came out nice, but still can't get rid of one patch.
recently learnt of smd's and done under my doors, and my passenger footwell, wired all to the footwell loom so they light up with the doors opening, looks good at night, bright white.
got blue for the dash with red odo and climate control.
any chance of anyone finding some reverse polarity for the courtesy lights?

17.50 at moment for 10 or 22 for shifter globe and 10 for dash. all smd all bright and all will look awesome.

yeh i only sell smd now, much brighter then led. my smds are a flat based wedge globe for a wider angle of light and are really bright compared to any led you can get. i cant get the reverso polarity globes and i prob wont because all the ones i have found from suppliers are s**t to be honest and i dont like to sell inferior products.

it doesnt come in the holders but its a direct replacement for a factory globe. it just looks like a normal t5 led except flat at top and no clear plastic over it. alot shorter then most leds too which gives it better light spread. heres my au with them in. they can be dimmed and i have never had on blow on me, even when i shorted my sound system out and a few other things. seem to be tough as nails

Narva make a direct replacement in blue LED, part number is 47902 (for blue LED) iirc.
to prevent them from looking "patchy" grab yourself some sandpaper and frost the globes and it will evenly disperse the light.
i did this with my EF when i had it years ago and it worked a treat!
