I remember hearing that one of the wires or something had to be changed for the trip computer to work properly, i wanted to find out what they were.

Cheers

So i just cut the PWM Data output (Pin 34) from the Trip Computer and tap it onto Pin 58 on the ECU

yes you need to cut it from the trip comp and splice/tap the trip comp end into pin 58.
dont cut pwm at the ecu as the pwm data is used elsewhere...

it might be best to run a fresh wire from the trip comp and tap it into pin 58..

So cut it close to the trip computer so I dont muck anything else up, and from the trip computer end of the cable i cut, I put a new wire on it and put it on the Pin 58 Wire.

yep the range will also work..
everything should work as normal but the range is never really accurate its more estimate.. it works off your average consumption and your average speed vs the fuel in your tank and calculates an average..
