Hey guys

I have an issue with the airbag beeps going off on my new EF fairmont.

I have done a heap of searching and found the doco's to be outstanding. Thank you for bringing these to the world for everyone to read and learn.

One quick question.

When I turn the ignition on the airbag light does not come on the cluster. I then get the 5 lots of 5 beeps, which tells me there is an issue with the airbag. I get no flashing from the cluster at all.

My thoughts is the globe has blown, which is pretty obvious. Would a blown globe cause that beeping noise to go off everytime I start the car?

I am unable to check for codes ATM due the lamp not flashing/coming on at startup.

Are the globes easy to replace and are they some kind of special globe?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers
Mark

This one here has the answer to stop if flashing if there is a fault. If you think the bulb is blown I would change that first.

Same thing mine did... just a blow fuse so check them first.

Thanks guys

First this I did was check the fuse. I would think that would the most common issue. I will pull the cluster out tomorrow and see if the globe has blown. I would not have assumed an O/C or blown globe would cause and issue with the beeping, but who know. Maybe it is a part of the self test and why I get the 5 lots of 5 beeps.

Cheers
Mark
