Hey guys my mate has a EF falcon GLI and he was rewirering the stereo cables and the shorted out his ECU
 what do i do

ecu wiring is nowhere near the stereo.
replace crt fuse.

He bugerd up and reversed the polaraty.

+1 Fuses are there for a reason and that is to protect the car and the parts like the alternator, ecu, headlights and various other electrical devices !

Ok, lets start from the top.Now i wasent there but from what he said it goes like this.
he bought it of my mate and his sister riped the radio out with force and destryed the plugs.So he tried wiring them up with new ones and two wires crossed and he heard a bang at raced to start it but it just wont work.

sounds like maybe the crt fuse has blown??

No the only ones that work are the parkers and high beam.WTF

Ok check the "radio" fuse in the fuse box located the the bottom right of the steering wheel, this can blow really easily since its a small rated fuse. Most of the time this will be the issue, check if it is toasted, if so go get a new one and replace it then try again with the negative terminal disconnected from the battery. If its not the "Radio" fuse check all the others in the box !

Yeah mate, pop the fuse panel near your right knee there will be a 10 amp fuse with crt marked on.

It only takes 1 minutes to check fuses and a few minutes to drive to your local automotive place, so it isnt a grueling or long job !

I would drive down there but his car is well um it wont start, my mums got the wagon, the ba's goin for a service, and the killer eb is fuked look at my new post in the 6cyl forum.

got a new ECU from u-steel-it today put it in cranked it 3 or 4 times and bam there goes the smart lock
