Today on one of my journeys to the wreckers (boredom) I discovered they had some 97 EL fairmont interior. So I bought it seeing my EF one isnt cutting it no more, Paid $550 for everything including the fairmont cluster with 123000kms on it  I dident think it was a very bad price.. Or was it? lol..

It all gets delivered next week, anyone know what problems I might come across doing the change over, ive gotta do it all myself too, coz my mates will be at work. Any special tools I need?
Ill keep you's informed and post pics as I go. Should be fun!

Cheers

you need to add the rear electric windows - and the oil pressure sensor for the cluster, and swap the EPROM chip if you so like - but besides that, its all good! :P

i think the only thing you might have to come across is the rear power windows but there is a doco on that somewhere here.
i would imagine everything else should be fairly straight forward

Yep, got the door trims, everything inside the car, even the steering wheel, gearknob, console, carpet, roof lining..even the fairmont badge that goes above the glove box.. everything.

I think the rear power window coversion might get put on hold. Ill just chuck the rest of the interior in there.

Yeah, thought so - I use them regularly too, it's good to be able to walk around the yard and pick what you need.

The seat mounting bolts are 'Torx' type.

one problem you will have is the EF and EL greys are different. Your dash won't match...
