Had a look and couldn't find what I was looking for so I do apologize in advance if this has been covered...but I'm in the process of changing my 97 EL interior from grey to black and so far I have most of it sorted by dying vinyl, painting plastics, recovering seats, new carpet, new hood liner and buttons/switches out of EFs but I want black seat belts! Is it possible to take black EF ones out and put into mine? Can I use good condition second hand ones or do I need to get new ones? Thanks in advance

black ef ones will fit, providing the second hand ones are not frayed on the edges and still retract they will be fine...

Did it work ahahah cos i want 2 do the same thing i have sprayed everyrhing black and redid roof liner in black and i got black carpet but with dpraying it over time it whers off so like u will have 2 spray some things like once a month it sucks bad ahah but the black looks soooo much better

bolt straight in with no modifications what so ever they are exactly the same they are just a different colour.

After sweating my A off today at the wreckers I made a horrible discovery...because I have an EL sapphire my front seat belts don't have the top slide adjust function like the EF 's seem to have standard so I don't think they are going to fit unless I change my pillars
 any ideas on who does after market standard seat belts?

Slides are not STD on EF, I have an EF II Faimont and it is not fitted with Slides. I know my mates NF Fairlane has them though. EL Fairmont was standard fit and I think EL Futura as well. If you are only after the front belts, I have a set here out of an EF Futura you can have.

I retro fitted the adjustable EL belts into an EF (II) so the reverse is possible. You just need the matching pilar trims.

And after a heated 'discussion' I've been informed that not all EF's slide...and my partner in crime Jayson was sure mine were slides as his EL's are so we came home with none and me stressing about how grey seatbelts are going to look with my new black seats haha but I admit I was wrong about all EF's having slides after seeing alot today but what is the white writing on the plastic top cover?? Are they slides?? I think that's why I got confused plus being blonde doesn't help haha |
