Hey guys

I have an EL with dual air bags that got set off, I just read the airbag doco and I thought it cleared everything up for me so i could put it all back together, BUT i went to a wreckers for a clock spring and he told me i have to replace, both sensors and the module, and if i didn't that the new bags would blow as soon as i connected power, I get the feeling his trying to con me.

could someone please conferm if this is true, Do i need to replace everythin and will the bags blow if i dont?
my plan was too hook it up and check for error codes.

Cheers
Simo

has the car been stacked?
If yes, then Yes.
No, then slap in the new clock spring and fire it up.

Cheers, it has been in a crash but theres no damage anywhere near any sensors.
But now im really confused because i just read (http://www.fordmods.com/post742402.html) where snap0964 said you can reuse them.

has anyone ever stacked and replaced only the bags??
the reason i ask is because im very low on funds.

Thanks

If you're concerned about the airbags, you can get a couple of blanking resistors (viewtopic.php?t=22144) and plug them into the PAB and drivers airbag plugs before turning ignition on for testing.
