afaik the wiring is already there, it just has a resistor plugged into it to fool the computer into thinking the 2nd airbag is connected

you'll need the twin airbag dash and the airbag unit

i think the wirings there it doesnt matter, you need the airbag computer, not sure if you can get to it with out taking the dash off its in behind and above the fuse panel so you eill be fighting some wiring.

im doing it to my car atm sorta, gotta find the parts

You just need the dash and airbag.

The wiring and airbag ecu is already there ready for the second airbag to go in.

P.S. What colour dash and airbag are you after. :D

I require the grey dual airbag dash for the dual air bag conversion will any el dual airbag dash suit or do i need the fairmont ghia one for an EL Fairmont. i also require any other accesories required for the conversion ie:passenger airbag and any wiring looms, does it just plug straight in and is the dash easy to fit.

regards,

sman

You need any PAB dash from an EL. Dont get EF, as they are a different colour.

From there you just need to remove your old dash, swap over all looms, computers, instruments, radios, switches, etc into the new dash and reinstall.

There is a yellow covered cable already in the dash that runs from the drivers side to behind where the PAB will mount.

I have a spare EL PAB dash at home if your are interested, but I am in Melbourne. Can organise freight if you want.

The hardest thing to find will be a grey PAB. 95% of accidents seem to be front enders where the PAB's go off, and the other 5% are quickly snapped up by repairers as soon as they are available.

You'd expect to pay upto $200 for a bare dash, and anywhere upto $300 for a PAB.

About a 2 hour job to do a swap. Not much effort at all really.

Would I have to do to fit a PAB to my EF1, as the EF series 2 was the first to have the PAB. Would my current airbag system be capable of running the PAB??

dobnt quote me on it but i'd expect by changing the dash and also the airbag ECU and wiring loom it'd be possible - its just a question of how much u have to change
