Buy a s**t set of seats from a wreckers, take the rails off them and bolt them to the floor, then weld your rails on top of them mounted a bit further back. That's how you mount generic sports seats and stuff.

From what I understand, EL's have a slightly lower seating position, hence the extra room.

For all the people who think I sit like a muzza, it's not quite like that! I sit fairly upright (in terms of the back rest) but I just don't find enough leg room in the EF.

I have owned a variety of cars, and most have had more front leg room than the EF, including my AU which I find perfectly comfortable.

I rekon series 1 EF's were the only ones with this problem?

When they went to the series 2 EF, they gave them longer runners for the front seats... I think?

I think possibly the seats in the high series cars are slightly different, I am 6'2" and I find that the seats in the FBT don't go back far enough to be comforatble on long drives either. Whereas the EB/AU/BA wagons that I have had are much better.

You are right I noticed this when i fitted EF XR seats in to my EF GLi. The GLi seats go back further than XR & Fairmont seats and with the higher series seats you sit higher as well.

Why dont you just unbolt the rails from teh seat and weld them back a inch or two further back?

That would be the easiest way
