Hi I've found a xr8 6 gauge cluster for cheap and was wondering if it would work in a 6cyl, tried searching but to no go.

No it wont work. The tacho is calibrated based on the number of cylinders the engine has.

You must find a 6cyl version otherwise your tacho will read incorrectly.
