Hey guys, seeing as I don't have a centrally located dome light anymore, I want to mount one towards the front of the ceiling (see picture). Now I know it will be a bit of jerking around, but front seat lighting is not enough as is.

I was thinking of using the one out of the AU Lanes and LTDs, but if anyone else knows of a different one (from even a different car company) I could use, then contribute to this thread please.

Is that an AU Lane one? Is that like a glasses holder? Aren't they meant to be hella crap and unreliable?

Are you able to take the light lense away from everything? Because I have to get the whole unit sprayed black.

yah tis an AU sunglass holder, no idea what model its from though!

lights can't be seperated - as for being unreliable & crap - no idea - works fine, plus the car won't be driven much anyways!

The sunglass holders tend to fail. I have heard that the backing can fail, but in my Fairmont it's just the bit that slides down, which is detatchable. I do need to repalce that one day.

You could put circle stickers on the lenses when you spray it lol

Hmmm, I really don't know what to do, lol. I was thinking of just putting some reading lights towards the sides in the front. But some central dome light would look better I think.

Hmmm

Can you just glue a normal dome light up there? Maybe a futura / fairmont one back to front so you have map lights too.

They are exactly the same as the AU sunglass holder, just without the sunglass holder
