Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me an easy way to fit ghia roof lights to an EL falcon. I have purchased the lights but I'm not quite sure how to install them after taking the original overhead light out.
Do I need to get myself a head lining from a ghia as well? Would this make the job easier?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, thanks but the wiring is not the same : eg, the ghia map light has three wires attached plus two lights for the rear and two other ones (not sure where they go) the original light has only two wires.

You sure about that?
I believe you need 3 on high series ones, constant for the map lights etc. a courtesy activated one for the standard and obviously an earth. where a gli just has 2 courtesy activated power and earth from my understanding.

Good timing, I did this today. Easy to figure out the wiring from the Gregorys manual.

Ok, the centre dome light will screw in after trimming the headlining forward of the light. Just trim little bits at a time until it sits right, so you avoid cutting too much.

Connect the:

black/blue (switched ground) wire in the roof loom to the black/blue one coming out of the dome light.

Green/yellow in the roof loom to both green/yellow coming from the dome light.

This should know work perfectly.

For the rear lamps:

The dome light gets its constant ground from where one of the screws goes into the roof.

Crimp/solder a ring terminal onto some wire, and screw it under (above) one of the dome light screws. This will be your permanent ground, which needs to be connected to the black wires on the reading lamps.

Connect the green/yellow in the roof loom to the green/yellow on both reading lamps, and do the same for the blue/black.

To mount them, mark the holes the same size as the lense, and cut them. Get the metal through above the lining, clip in the plastic frame, then the lense.

Im not sure about the front lamps above the sunvisors, havent done those. Wiring colours will still match the same though.

Done!

You could get the ghia lining and loom, but that would'nt be any fun would it :D
