Hi All.

I have a ford NA fairlane and am looking to get an in dash GPS.

I am looking at the full sized one rather that the small one as the single unit screen would come up and cover the ac vents and I am concerned this will mess up the operation of the climate control unit as the sensor is just above it.

Does anyone know if it is possible to mount a full sized unit in these cars?

It is possible to mount a double din unit, but it needs cutting. A single din with 7" screen doesnt cause issues with climate control, I had one in my Fairlane, and have the same unit in my XR8.

In yours does the screen cover the vent at all or does it not reach that high? if it doesn't reach the ac vents then I should be cool,

What brand did you have?

It does cover the vents, but I just shut them. I have a Pioneer deck.
