Hey all,
Just wondering where the best spot is to run the power wire for some neons from inside the cabin to the battery without cutting into the firewall?
Cheers

The ones that I got have a little box that 2 neons plug into and then a positive and negative cable run out of the box...would it be overloading the cig wire if i ran 4 neons (2 of these boxes) of it?

Shouldnt, if it does it will only blow a fuse. Run it in parallel to keep constant voltage, not series as that will make each light half as bright.

Does it say what sort of amp draw they use?

When done properly they can look good. Have you done the LED's in your cluster? If so shut the hell up.

Actually im 20, and if my age makes any difference to my ability to have an opinion that you dont agree with then I think you should keep your opinions to yourself and shut the hell up.

The OP can do what he/her wants to their car and was asking for advice, not a juvinle responce such as

I wonder how many Imports could whopp your car in a straight line and around a track. Pull your head in if you want to start throwing the age card around, Mr "I'm 21 now so my opinion is worth more than yours."

Alright so whether or not neons are tacky was not the point of this thread, if it helps you help me then just pretend they are LED's or something.
Anyway, most stuff i've read tells me to connect the positive wire to the battery etc and the negative to ground...but to test the neons worked i just placed the wires on the battery terminals, and the negative wire had to be on the negative terminal for it to work, placing it on a ground point didnt do anything...does the cig lighter have a positive and negative wire?
Sorry, havent screwed with the electronics much before

ok put the positive wires from each neon onto the colored wire on the cigi lighter. and the negative together onto the black wire. its really easy and simple.

Easy Lol.

Actually it will, but the ground point cant have any paint on it since paint isnt conductive. Find some bear metal and it will complete the circuit. But so as Ausedwagon said, use the wires that are already there, can you solder?

Well when you guessed im 17 or 18, and not getting worked up over neons, im getting worked up over an idiot that thinks when someone is asking for specific advice they are asking for an opinion. The OP obviously likes the look of them, so either help him or stop replying to the thread.

Don't feed the troll mate.

I ran mine via a 4way cig lighter adapter, which is hidden in my glove box. The wires run from glove box the cig lighter wires, via a switch.

My cig lighter is now not functional in its regular spot, only in the glovebox.
