hi all just wondering how others have gone by installing a car stereo into there ef/el? from my expirience you have to modify the brackets from the original stereo to make the aftermarket unit fit? just wondering if anyone has a better method?

Remove the original brackets from the stock head unit. Drill new holes into the stock bracket to line it up with the aftermarket head unit. Attach stock brackets to new head unit and it should slot right in without any issues. I marked my brackets where they needed to be drilled. Took it to JB Hifi (my drill broke) and the dude drilled the holes for me. He didn't actually drill the holes where I marked, but the head unit fits perfectly. Next time, I'll make sure I measure twice before I cut/drill, because I am pretty sure if I drilled that hole myself, the head unit would be sitting a centimeter out of the dash.

It's called being innovative. It's free and it holds the H/U like the stock unit. No bounce, no protrusions, no worries.
