The falcon carpet is a plush pile and the fairmont ghia is super plush pile - justa bit more 'plusher' in carpet talk.
Carpet only comes in grey and cappaccino

Dont get aftermarket...
I went there.. It was OK, but the fit wasnt too good and in the end looked pretty bad.. Was a waste of $200.. Hold out for some good factory carpet.. What colour you after? |

I was thinking of going aftermarket, but after your advice, will probably scout around the wreckers yards for a genuine....
Might even go to the Fraud dealer, although not sure what they will try and shaft me for a ghia EL carpet. Hopefullly under 200 - specially if the EF GLi carpet was $145....

Ford no longer have Ghia carpets in stock. Its NLA. Been there, and rang all the dealers in Melbourne and some Sydney and Adelaide, but a no go. And this was 9 months ago.
I have my old carpet I took out, the drivers floot mat is a little worn, but the rest of the carpet is perfect. If your interested PM me your email address and I can get some pics for you tonight. |

guys, the 145 i got priced was grey it was for an ef im pretty sure efs didnt come with black carpet, cheers

Might just go for the good ole GLI carpet though - in that stunning grey....only 145 for a freshy outta the box. Worn carpet is one of those things that is never urgent, but if you are fussy (like me) it s**t you to tears!

Same here... It s**t me, but as the rest of the carpet was perfect I didnt do much about it until one day I had the cash around.
Then I regretted the aftermarket stuf... lol... |

Have you seen the clear indicator mod.....looks trick! Im trying to get in touch with the dude who does them....

Does anyone have any contacts that actually makes custom floor mats.
Not the whole floor carpet just like mats you'd buy at autobarn. I want some custom ones made up...

Steve (dcstraight) got some made up at a place in the South East.
He got a roll of the factory carpet and they cut that up to shape and put a non slip backing on it. Maybe speak to him for the exact details, etc. I do know someone with a while stack of rolls of the EF/EL Luna Mist standard carpet... Not sure on $$$, but I know they are there. If anyone is interested, I can look into it. Might be a cheap way of getting mats done, using same colour as factory carpet. Actually... That is a bloody good idea, never thought of that. Might do that to replace my now getting old grey/black mats that dont look so good. |

Go somewhere where they will do embossing on the floor mats - that's my future plan but for now I picked up some factory cappa floor mats for $35 from FTG.

Had a ring round today - Ford are out of carpets for EL's, and you wont get any anywhere as they are "obselete stock". Apparantly, ford calls all obselete stock back from the dealers, and then destroys it?! WTF?
Anyway, Moulded Car Carpets in Bayswater do them for 140 bucks in about 9 diferent colours. Gonna go take a squiz tomorrow. Sweeeeet.
