Just a cut & paste from a post many moons ago:

snap0964 wrote:
The mid series light is basically the base light with the two reading/map lights tacked on the front - there are two green/yellow wires supplying power for each (dome light/reading lights) - simply join them together and attach to the car's green/yellow wire. There is only one black/blue wire - join this to the car's black/blue wire, this controls the dome light and goes through the BEM to allow fading (mid and high series BEM's). The reading lights are controlled by their respective on/off switch, which earths power through the light assy frame.
Mounting either light assy is via 4 screws

Thanks snap0964, I did do a search, but didn't find s**t, usually it's because it's fussy about what key words you use!

Yup, I recently converted mine to LEDs so am familiar with the fact the map lights don't work inless it's screwed into the roof.

Nothing to see, imagine bulbs replaced with LEDs. White light instead of crappy orange/red 'white' light.

did you put the LEDs in the actual dome light, or those two front map lights that you turn on and off with the switch? Because i want to do the same thing.

Both, dome light and reading/map lights.

Used a pair of frosted 8MM LEDs for the dome, and single 8mm LEDs for each maplight.

I've got a LED festoon but it's not bright enough. There is an LED shop that sells premade ones online, or otherwise Jaycar sells a kit (which I did) but it's not worth the money unless the price has changed.
