just wondering if someone could shed some light on what might be wrong. when i select the intermittent mode on the wiper control, it gets stuck on one time interval regardless of it i select the wipers to go at short or long time intervals, its stuck on about 10 seconds between wipes. i have already checked the fuse and i know its not the BEM as it didn't work correctly before and after the BEM upgrade, so im guessing that it could be either the wiper motor or the actual wiper stalk, any help would be awesome

a mate had same problem in his df ltd and traced it down to being a broken wire in the wiper switch. he found the wire was a little short too when he went to resolder it so extended it and had no problems since.

sounds like the rotating ring part of the switch if everything else is working (wiper, etc). might be an idea to grab another stalk assembly and plug it in under the dash to test but make shore its off an EF as EL is different.

Is the car a genuine XR6 or a GLi mock up?

If you had a black BEM originally and upgraded to a Blue mid series to gain interior dimming and variable wipers, then you have to add one wire from the stalk to the BEM itself.

Otherwise, as above,
I've found several variable stalks that have had the solder break off the resistor ring, a re-solder works or just a replace the broken bit.
