On my FG G6E turbo I can get the ipod working throug the ICC but I can't control it through the ICC as I have to control playback through the iPod touch where as on the mrs FG xr6 I have full control through the ICC.

My car 08 FG GE6 turbo
Mrs car 11 FG XR6

Any ideas?

it can depend on the ipod itself. early fg had no bluetooth or ipod sync capability for the newer ipods/iphones as they werent invented when the cars tech stuff was. seeing as the car it works in is a 2011, i would say its had an upgrade in the audio and phone sync area compared to yours. i do know that you can update the bluetooth unit in the fg, in some of the older cars this was necessary as the tech in them was designed pre the iphone 5, and as such the iphone 5 sync wont work in early non updated cars

Welcome to the world of Apple ( grossly inferior way overhyped ) products . My FG syncs and connects seamlessly and stays connected with EVERY other brand . Apple forget it .

Does the update need to be done by FORD?

from my understanding there is a bluetooth unit in the car that physically gets changed. whether you then need ford to flash your car to turn the feature on i couldnt say.....

We'll the issue is resolved now, I have full control from the ICC, the term used on the paper work is:
REPROGRAMED ICC UNIT TESTED ALL OK

I got it done on 103K service so there was no charge.
