Hey guys, im currently re-dying/spraying my interior and i need alittle help on how to pull apart the door handles.... ive had a good look at it and there seems to be a brass coloured pin holding the door handle together. if someone could give some advice on how to remove it with out damaging it all that would be awesome!

ill put up some pics later down the track when ive done abit more to it all.. im basically going for the new G6E interior (black and cream white theme) so i hope it all turns out good =) also if anyone around the Victor Harbor/ Adelaide area know where i can pick up some leather that would be great!

cheers Jason 8-)

Just use a small punch or screw driver of a suitable size and push the pin out. Once the pin is removed, the handle will come free from the surround. Take note of the way the spring behind the handle is positioned as it has to be located in a certain way for the door handle to have the spring-return functionality. Once you get one done, the rest will be a piece of piss.

Just a small update, gave the Front Passenger side a few coats today. i think it turned out very well :D being the first time ive done this its been a fair large learning curve but i must admit its coming along very nicely so far

im still very undecided on what trim insert i should do. was thinking maybe a tan/cream leather?
but anyways just a couple of photos on the progress 8-)

First picture is just a light spray after a very thorough cleaning.

and the second one is the finished job.

Image

all in all im very happy so far with it all.
cheers Jason 8-)

Its called 'Buckskin Tan' it looks lighter then what it is in the photos due to the lighting in the shed. its similar to the 'cappuccino' colour in the EF/EL fairmonts etc but about 3-4 shades lighter :D

what the colour looks like in low sunlight :)

That is quite a nice colour, I've done a similar thing to what you're doing, a black on cappa look. That shade that you have gone with would go nicely with black. Is it a paint you had mixed up or can you buy it from an auto store?

Thanks mate, its a vinyl dye comes in a can (VHT i think the brand is) got it from Autobarn it doesnt require any primer and soaks right in. i wasnt too sure if it would work on plastic but the bloke told me it should. i done alittle on the speaker grill and it seems to work well on that plastic. but i guess ill see how it goes :D

Oh awesome!! Might have to grab a couple of cans next time I'm down at Repco or the likes, I need something to fix up the ugly looking arm rests which supposedly used to be cappa lol.
