Ah, yeah, true, I never thought of that, I don't have one now so it shouldn't matter what I put there as long as it lights up correctly, excellent!

Hmmm..I may want led's in the tail lights after I do it though.....lol.....it never ends.....sigh...

Its all cool champ and really straight forward - these sorta babies are the ones to go for just obviously fitament times to differ between models but have a look around

Just a side note: regardless of whether the XRs have/havent got the parcel shelf light (cabling should actually be there regardless) if you remove the stop/tail fitting from your wing or remove/replace the factory wing to comply with the ADR under ADR 60/ you MUST have a high mount stop tail light installed and working if you had one from factory (whether it be shelf mounted or spoiler).

Thanx for the links, I am well aware of the rules, which is why I'm looking into setting up the parcel shelf for when I do remove the spoiler, as I need that light working.

well that model posted above is the sort you need to track down as they have multiple Leds forward facing as well as around the sides for that 'omni-direction' illumination - this should light up the reflector loads better than the standard globe

Nice....an led conversion would be nice down the track. I'm lucky in that in my car the wiring and globe holder is there, but in later XR's, it was deleted due to the spoiler.

Sure on that Vic? Manual doesn't say it gets deleted, only shows the additional run to the boot for XRs.

Pretty sure mine has it even though the parcel shelf carpet doesn't even have the hole for it to shine through.

Sometime in 04 Ford stopped putting the light assembly in the parcel shelf on XR's. They tend to do different things for FPV's, so I don't know what you would have.

Case in point, BF cars lose their lower dash vents, except for FPV cars, and FPV cars always kept the cup holder cover that all first run BA's had.

I'm happy to know I just need to put a bulb in, but other guys need the assembly, and possibly the wiring, but I don't know about that.

True about the vents and cup holders.

When ordering my carbon interior kit, they double checked I was right on both the vents and the cup holder style. Then they still sent the wrong parts anyway. Took photos to convince them otherwise.

Ha, ha...that's pretty funny, people like that should know their Fords, you would think.

Seeing as how FPV's kept everything other B series cars lost after BA1, you may still have everything in your parcel shelf.
