Just added 2x high bright white leds and got the lens cover for the rear console light (just under the rear air vents) that lights up the footwells... i got the wires all running to the front and i want to tap into the wiring that goes to the ignition key light so that they are only on when you open your doors or turn interior light on, i have a 98 AU and there is a 20-30 pin connector behind the steering wheel, im guessing thats what i tap into, but i dont know which two colours i need to wire too (the positive and negative that go to ignition light) Any help would be appreciated, need it done asap so need quick reply, ta

Raz

Firstly, Id look at the doco section and see if there is anything there to help.

My next guess (trying to remember how I did this in my EF) is to trace a wiring diagram from somewhere.

If it helps, in the EF the wires were green and yellow from memory. That was the ones near the ignition leading down to the cigeratte lighter.

Thats all from memory, dont know if its much help.

Are there footwell globes on your AU in the front? Tap into them if so.

Wouldnt be too bad if you just run the wire in the roof carpet down between the little bit between the two doors (if you get what i mean)

Hmm maybe you could try get away with it by taking off the roof light, connecting in the wires, then running in down by sort of sliding it through and guiding it through the carpet. I usually do stuff like that coz I don't like pulling s**t apart :P.

meh its all done, wired up an extra light that goes in the center console aswell as the curosy lights, so i can see how many 5c peices i have left in there. ran the wire down the middle up and then up the steering column to meet with the wires that are used for the ignition key light...
