Hey all,
I'm am in the process of doing the dash lights so on and so forth, i wish to pain the dash of the car white, ive been told not to use vynil spray as it chips and flakes. I was wondering if the same paint that is on the out side off the car would be alright to paint the dash in. If so what and how do i need to prepare the dash first? Cheers guys Choca

nar mate any can of auto paint from supercrap ect will be fine no need for vinyl paint as it not desgined for plastic

Use plenty of wax and grease remover before u prime/paint - that will stop flaking/chippping.

just clean it and take it to the panel beaters and get them to paint it in 2 pack it wont ever chip or scratch thats what i did with mine and trust me it aint ever coming off. i also sanded mine back to get a really shinny smooth finish

Just had a look at your website, looks good in red but would have looked mad in a metallic color.

rub it back with a scotch brite or fine sand paper then get into it with the wax and grease remover then paint with an acrylic or 2 pak paint

rub it back with some fine sand paper and some wax and grease remover before painting to remove any previous armor-all etc.
Prime it with any "decent" spray can of primer (don't use clints stuff!) haha Paint it with again, any "decent" spray paint in your chosen color, Then Clear it. |
