how hard is it to add the passenger airbag to a car that doesnt have one??
say you have the appropraite dash, an unspent airbag, is it just a case of a matching BEM and loom or is it much much more than that??

If ur cars a series 1, you'll have make a loom to the air bag module, (located in the upper rhs of the firewall and u cant reach it without the dash being out)

If its a series 2 there should be a loom already to the PAB with a resistor installed to act as a blank.

You'll need the PAB, and also the entire dash (theres structual differences including plumbing for the air vents) other than that its quite easy to install.

I did mine about 6months ago and well.. i haven't used it yet! (touch wood)

All EL's have the PAB wiring.

Ohh yeh, the BEM doesn't control the air bags. as stated where it is. and its labled DO NOT REMOVE for legal reasons etc :P

thats what I did, I purchased an entire fairmont dash no CC just loom and airbag, bem and cluster.

I was to sell the parts but the mrs said "wheres my air bag huh?" so i did the whole lot...

didn't need to twist my arm! I liked the fact she's telling me to modify the car!
rare huh?

i mainly wanna put it in (for safety of course) but i think the PAB dash looks alot better aswell, the passenger side looks very plain without it...
