are you fitted a sender or a switch? the original switch will just go right up to full pressure

 --lol---yes it is switched on--- turn ign on- all gauges & lights work, including oil light----START engine--light goes off- all gauges work correctly----exept oil pressure climbs to maximum---switch engine OFF--oil pressure drops as expected==========son came home last night [ ef fairmont ], had a look at oil pressure sender on his & IT IS DIFFERENT STYLE= it is about 1in round x 3in long==mine is the same as what was on the EA/EB= 2in x 2in with 14mm shaft about 2-1/2in long===is there any difference in the way they read?? =

you have a switch fitted, not the sender.

NO!! it has a pressure sender unit--it fully works in the EB fairmont & the eb with sports dash--other one is brand new--looking on ebay one of the stores list 2 different sender units for different times of release of the cars---so was wondering if there are different senders???????????????????

So you fitted the pressure sender from an EB?

They are not compatible with the EF/EL cluster.

There is a different part for them. They are approx $65 from ford new.

I found out the hard way when I put the EF/EL dash in my EB.

Cheers
BenJ
