I want to replace the seat belts in my 12 year old AU however Ford have decided to discontinue this part. I cant buy from a wrecker as thats not allowed, so whats my next move? They work ok but they are a bit grubby and fraying a little. Can the webbing be replaced if I buy a roll?

Can't buy from wreckers not allowed? I have brought a few seat belts over the years, never got told that, unless it is a state thing try a nsw wrecker that would could send freight

Do they need replaceing? go to a local autobarn they can order new aftermarket ones but they are not cheap!

Not sure about other states.. but here in S.A. it IS illegal to sell or fit 2nd hand seatbelts. I have no idea just how the hell they'd be able to enforce that law.. but it's there.

I do believe that the BA seat belts are the same. I fitted Black Au belts to my BA wagon because the BA wagon I believe only had grey belts because you only had a choice of XT or Futura spec. In any case i Had to tell ford that I had an AU series 3 SR to get the black belts for the wagon. I'd remove the passenger belt from your AU and take it to fork and compare it to an BA or BF unit if they have 1 on the shelf.
