What car is it. Is the battery still charged? Anything else not working? And who is this muzza you talk about?

Hi. car is 98 NL Fairlane Ghia. 5l.
Muzz... Wife started car , all running well. left motor running, windows up. and hosed dust off outside of car.
After 4-5 minutes opened car door , car full of smoke and still coming from ac vents.
Shut down car and restarted, running fine, everthing works execpt air. no lights on climate control pad at all. All other instrument lights fine.
Bad burnt electrical smell inside car.
Thinking burnt wireing or burnt out fon motor.
Thinking fuses and circuit breakers should prevent that from happening.
Havent had a chance to look yet.
Has this happened to anyone else, or any ideas
Air was working beautifully. No smells and very cold or hot when set.????

I would say the CC module has died and the smoke from the failure has been circulated by the fan prior to it stopping.

Thanks for that thought Twason, Did notice it was hard to adjust temp on cc. Was going to replace earlier. I assume module is the control pad in dash for climate control.
Home from work now and keen to diagnose.
Will look tomorow. Thanks for taking the time,
Isn.t this the great thing about Ford Mods.......................................

I had a similar prob the other day in an EA - had the fan on, and it started pouring smoke outta the vents with a very strong burnt electrical smell. We think the motor burnt out.

Issue resolved..
Twason, your spot on. Pulled dash cover off and smelt.
Sure enough horrible smell from cc, burnt out capasitor. Same smell as my welder when it blew one. Explains all the smoke too.
Got a sh one from wreckers $40. fitted up all working fine.
Many thanks to all. Special Thanks, Twason.
PS Car has 190 kls. Beautiful.
