I got one of these http://www.jiexinggas.com but had to return it as it was not complienced for a +2003 car even though it as europe certifications.
The kit its self was of reasonable quality and at 1/4 the price of the BRC kit I had to get it was a fair bargain.

I took a risk and bought 2 kits. I've spoken to the Ebay seller - his name is Mick and he is an LPG installer. He has fitted them to a fair few E series, with good results. So I figured the risk was worth it, since he wouldn't want all his installs coming back as warranty jobs, and he was very helpful with sharing knowledge on them - he knows his LPG. Other thing is you'd think the installs would be legally complianced.

They are a cheap kit, and as Tony has said, the quality is not bad - the only issue I have is the converter fittings for the coolant hoses - plastic fittings with O rings with a Y shaped retainer - I prefer threaded fittings, but time will tell how they hold up.

The key thing to bear in mind is that they are a generic kit, to fit 4 cyl and medium sized 6 cyls. So an E series 6 cyl only slightly modded would suit, max is around 150 kw from these kits.
I had a few hassles fitting the kit, due to being generic - so it's no fault of the kit.

Put up with the hassles, as it is worth it - my wagon drives very well with it, performance is noticeable, particularly up hills, etc. Getting rid of the old converter/mixer system was certainly worth it. Fuel economy is now pretty close to petrol.
The system has it's own LPG ECU, which is accessed via a Laptop and serial cable, and it's very customiseable, and has an auto and manual tune. It can run sequential, batch and group fire systems, as it uses the petrol injector pulses and modifies them for the LPG injectors.

If you are installing yourself, I'd suggest you be reasonably competent mechanically, and be reasonably good with electrics, as you'll obviously need to get it certified to make it a legal install.

Pepeguts: Might be best to go to Melbourne if you're set on buying the kit to get it installed.
Ask Mick for his number, as he knows this gear back to front - support documentation is average in the kits, so you will be talking to Mick a lot if you self install.

Yes in my dealings I found Mick was fair and honest. Hard to contact unless by phone though.
Thing to remember is you will find most installers wont want to touch it unless they sold it so unless you can do it yourself do your homework first.

The system does use petrol on start up - dependent on RPM and coolant temp settings.
I haven't tried lower settings to check whether it will start directly on LPG.
The system should run your engine setup fine.
I suppose if you could fit interference plugs with the nozzles fitted into the petrol injector holes.

This stuff is probably better directed to Mick - I'm not sure if the post that was here (been deleted) was from him or another LPG supplier/installer.

See if the LPG ECU has a " gas start" option - My AI Easyjet system does, and setting it to enabled will allow the car to start on LPG, but only when the coolant temp & cool down options are set. If the car is outside the cool down time or coolant temp is too low it will still start on petrol.

There is also an option to force swtich over to lpg after a time frame, I currently have 1 minute, so it starts & runs on petrol for 1 minute, then switches to LPG. Warmer weather this is ok, cooler months i stretch it out to 3 mins. There is also an "emergancy gas start" option that you can set & it will start on LPG, no matter the coolant temp, but it runs like crap for a minute or so until the engine & coolant start to warm up. Then it's fine.

Cheers

There's not really an option in the JX autogas setup for LPG only start.
The main parameters are RPM and coolant temp - defaults are 1500 rpm and 50deg c, but you can set these two to whatever you like.
One day I'll set both to zero, and see what happens on startup.

Must have very basic software to run it then?

The results of what your suggesting will be interesting.

Cheers

TBH I thought it was pretty customiseable - along with that, you can adjust the type of LPG map sensor you're running, advance or retard the injector timing, O2 sensor input if necessary, switchover to petrol for low LPG level, etc.
Along with auto and manual tune, I didn't really think you need more. The tune itself is saved to a binary file, so you can load any tune file to the LPG computer you like. The system pretty much just uses the petrol injector pulse, and leaves the petrol ECU to control most things.

For a sub $600 kit, I'm pretty happy with it in terms of economy and performance, certainly noticeable compared to the old Impco converter/mixer system.

Fair enough. On that note my Easyjet system has enough options to get it to run, then there is heaps of fine tuning options if you know what your doing, like LPG start, that i do like to use, provided the engine is warm enough.

This reminds me, i fixed a vac leak, now the LPG is running rich, i should give it a re-tune.

Cheers

I was talking to Mick today funnily enough - he did tell me he dynotuned an XR6 ute a while ago with this kit installed - it made 1 kw more than the petrol output. IIRC this was on LPG only without any switchback to petrol.
A pretty good effort IMO - didn't ask whether the ute was an XG or XH.
