G'day therillseekers : I, too, have a Tickford system :? Between the converter and the airbox runs a balance pipe, which is plastic, about 25mm I.D., and mine has a hole in it. ( I have it sticky-taped up at the moment :lol)

I have priced a new pipe from Fraud, and they want some astronomical money for a new one. Somewhere around $50!!! :o

Question: has anybody had to replace one of these, and what did you use. I have searched high and low, and cannot find a suitable replacement. The pipe has to be flexible enough to cope with some very tight radius bends.

use some heater hose or fuel line hose

all it is there for is iirc to allow atmo pressure to the conveter

theres no pressure in it, any hose the right size will do.

I understand that there is no pressure in it, and I can use heater hose etc, but the problem is firstly, finding the right ID/OD., and second, finding a hose that will cope with a sharp radius bend without kinking, as a heater hose will. the final bend at the airbox is very sharp, and any hose i try to use there simply kinks and blocks the air flow.

simple

get a piece of the old hose and go the the auto shop and tell them

for the bend 2 options

1, make the hose longer and use a differnt route through the engine bay

2, get some 90deg plastic poly bends from bunnings ( ones used on retic pipe ) and hose clamp each side

Nothing like bush mechanics to get the problem sorted and probably a lot cheaper than FRAUD  :D :D :D
