what is this thing and why does tick for so long then stop ticking :roll:

it come from the coverter and i was told it was a primer

its a vaccum switch. it might be ticking because of a faulty earth? ie: swithcing on and off rapidly.

it appears that its a vac line going to the upper side fo the convertors' diaphragm. Normally this is just vented to atmosphere.

Otherwise i have NFI

that is the solenoid that controls the mixture under closed loop.
it is supposed to do what you said it was doing.
just leave it alone, don't touch it.
unless you are experiencing a problem.

you are better of not having that thing solid mounted to the body, you can hear them clicking away inside the car while driving.
you should just cable tie it to a rubber hose or something. thats what i did with mine.

sorry forgot to get back to you on this luke111 i did it how yours is and no no loud ticking thanks mate big time it was driving me nuts with the ticking :D :D

that looks like the same impco model L convertor that ive got in my car...but i dont even have the little solenoid looking thing as shown in your photo...

my car is running very well on lpg and the gas usage seems to be very good

thanks well im not sure why you dont have one but if it aint broke dont fix it thanks for the reply mines running great and i get 385 to 400 ks on full tank
