There is a few things that will cause a LPG car to backfire. Ignition system is the first place I'd be checking out.

Cheers

well if you say everything has been changed, it should be fine. were proper gas temperature and electrode plugs installed? were they gapped correctly?

whats the timing set at?

I'd suggest a spark plug gap or 0.9 instead of the factory 1.0-1.1mm spec.

Cheers

I have had similar problems with an EB, it also would back fire and stall, jsut what you want when you are making a right hand turn (grab nuetral and start the bugger back up). I took it to a number of places and none of them fixed it. I found a mechanic that knew what they were doing and made the converter vertical again and it never missed a beat since. Good gas guys are hard to find. keep Ford service engineers away from them.
