Figures taken from Performance Buildups vol.15 No. 4 pp.72-73 "Losing Spark"Article is about the necessity of a decent ignition system.

Jason Ghiller: XE ESP with AU motor, turbo, Gas Research running through a C4 auto.
base line
330kw on 22psi
358kw on 24psi

installed Crane Ignition system then did three power runs
322kW on 20 psi
373kW on 22.5 psi
and 403kW (540hp) on 24psi

TEH WINNAH!

************
My XE which was previously an EF engine and similarly set up running N/A gas research managed 107rwkw. Sold the engine before i got the turbs on there. Meh going bigger and better with the current motor.

I am dead keen to see how my EF would go on the Dyno running LPG, bearing in mind it only cracked 120 rwkw on petrol the results wouldn't be great.

I've owned 2 LPG cars, and neither lost power (owned both cars before LPG install)

I think it's one of those things people who have no experience with LPG believe.

My current wagon goes harder on LPG. It's tuned for LPG though, so not sure if that comes into it or not.

It goes hard (only has 2.5" cat back & XR cam) and never misses a beat! :D

if the cars in very good condition and the fuel system has been looked after, a car should go better on petrol then it will on LPG.

unless you go to the extent of tuning the engine to make advantage of LPG's different fuel properties then you'll always seen a loss between the 2, depending on the setup determines just how much loss there is.

a lot of people talk about it like theres a huge loss... generally there isnt, but a loss is a loss.

I had my 5L dynoed back to back on gas and petrol and it was around 5 rwKw down with LPG. (About 3%) Over the quarter mile it cost me .3 or .4 of a second. (about 2.5%). These figures are fairly standard for dual fuel cars I think... Straight gas should see no power loss.
