I was chatting today with a mechanic who has a friend working at FPV and the word on the December release of the new supercharged 5L aluminium V8 FPV is that it will be available to the customer with either a 6psi or 8psi boost factory setting - customer's choice I believe.
So if you are thinking of buying an XR8 right now, maybe hold on until December.

is the supercharged motor that they're gonna use, the same that is in the late model mustangs with the 5L supercharged 500hp?

Yes, I believe it's the same 32 valve motor that the Mustangs are using.

I heard/read somewhere that Ford were going to use the supercharged V8 from the Jaguar Xtype-R's, being that Jag and Ford are tied up somehow, but that was some time ago so might be very old news.
