Regions may find it hard to police young driver restrictions
The Road Safety Council of WA admits new restrictions on young drivers may be difficult to enforce in some country areas.

From next year, P-platers will not be allowed to drive between midnight AWST and 5:00am.
They will also be prevented from carrying passengers under the age of 20, unless they are supervised by someone over 25.

P-platers will also have fewer demerit points to lose before they lose their licence.
Council chairman Grant Dorrington fully supports the restrictions, but concedes they may be difficult to police in regional areas.

"Yes, because of the state there are some areas where it may have some problems," he said.
"Now, we have to discuss that, we have to work in with the Government, the local governments and police and we've just got to make sure that we don't shy away from a tough decision because there might be a few areas where it's a bit harder to police."
